ALA Faculty
1st Grade - Mrs. Eddy
I graduated from Weber State University. I have taught 27 years in the Ogden School District teaching in both 1st and 2nd grades. I have both reading and gifted and talented endorsements. I am married to Scott, who is also a teacher in the Ogden School District, and we have 2 daughters, Ashly and Forest, 1 son, Canyon, and 1 son-in-law, Jack. When we add all of our pets together we have a total of 5 dogs, Ace, Hiccup, Zee, Apple and Cin-e-man, and 3 cats, Booker, Little U, and Lou. I love to go camping, fishing, hiking, and watching wildlife. I enjoy catching frogs at the lakes and rivers, watching birds and hummingbirds come to our bird feeders. I love to read and I hope I pass that love of reading and learning to the students I teach.
3rd Grade - Mr. Bruckman
My name is M. Kevin Bruckman and have had the privilege of teaching the 3rd grade ALA class for the past 3 years. 2020-2021 will be my 14th year teaching in the elementary schools of the Ogden School District. I have taught from 3rd grade to 6th grade and I spent 5 years teaching students Spanish in the DLI program at Bonneville Elementary. My educational background started with my father who taught for many years in Utah and worked in educational media services at the University of Utah. I received my bachelor's degree in Political Science at Weber State University as well as my teaching certificate. My master's degree in educational administration was earned through Western Governors University. For a person who thought he would always teach at the junior high or high school level, I am grateful that I was hired at the elementary level. I love teaching these young, inquisitive minds and love being a kid with them out on the playground. Thank you for helping your child participate in the ALA program at Taylor Canyon Elementary!
