TAYLOR CANYON HISTORY
Taylor Canyon Elementary was reopened on August 25th, 2010. After being closed for four years, the school got a new identity and name. The school includes the Accelerated Learning Academy with grades 1 - 6. Students from the neighborhood joined with these ALA students to make this school Taylor Canyon. The school was refurbished by removing the old tile, laying new carpet, painting classrooms, and getting new technology in each classroom. Teachers have the ability to use this new technology that includes: InterWrite boards, document cameras, projectors, and speaker systems. The students will also be able to use student responders and mobi pads to complete the technology available.
The faculty and staff come from a variety of schools throughout the district as well as recent graduates in the education program at WSU. There is a wide talent level within this group and we expect to use those talents to make Taylor Canyon a cut above.
